So You Think You Can Dance UK continued on Saturday as the Top 3 performed for Britain's votes. There were only 3 finalists as Robbie had to pull out of the competition due to injury. I'm doing this backwards since I already know the results but I'm going to pretend that I don't.




Top 3 Group Routine
I enjoyed it. All 3 got to show off their styles. The breaking of the glass was kind of surprising and cool. A couple of things I noticed was that Lizzie did the worst pirouette and that Charlie didn't do the kip-up/nip-up move. I was surprised that Charlie didn't do the kip-up move because she seems pretty athletic and can do those flips.

Lizzie & Tommy - Jazz
This is a rehash of the US Season 3 "boardroom" routine that Sabra & Neil did. I'm not one of those people that gets upset with them re-doing routines. Plus, the routine was modified a little bit. I thought they both did a fabulous job. Who would have thought that a Hip-Hop dancer and a Breakdancer could do a Jazz routine this well. I would put Lizzie on par with Kat Risteska from Australia but Tommy's the most versatile b-boy I've seen on SYTYCD. I know they've had other training but they are still amazing in their designated styles and are not pretenders.

Lizzie & Charlie - Broadway
Right from the starting poses, you knew this was going to be Charlie's routine. Charlie just brought so much style and sass to this routine. I think when given good choreography, you can see that Charlie is a fabulous dancer in her style. Lizzie did a good job but was overshadowed by Charlie.

Lizzie & Alastair - Samba
This was my least favourite routine of the night. I don't think that Lizzie is particularly strong in Ballroom/Latin. She may have had the footwork right but she looks uncomfortable out there.

Tommy & Mark - Hip-Hop
I thought they danced it well but something about it was lacking. I thought there was a little too much of I'll dance and you watch then you dance and I'll watch. Their tutting wasn't completely in synch. Regarding Nigel's comment of Tommy dancing as Tommy, I think it's a bit true but to be fair, the routine suited Mark more. Mark's hair style and more serious personality makes him look more futuristic.

Charlie & Tommy - Tango
I thought they did a really good job. I thought the judges overpraised Charlie and underpraised Tommy. I loved the choreography; Really interesting stuff with the chairs.

Charlie & Drew - Lyrical
Firstly, fabulous job, Mandy Moore! I just love Mandy Moore's "love story" choreography. And secondly, fabulous job, Charlie! This is my favourite routine of the season. Charlie was phenomenal in this; She was just flawless. Her lines were beautiful, she had beautiful flow and soft transitions to her movement and she conveyed emotion in every movement. Charlie is officially my second favourite.

Lizzie's Solo
It wasn't my favourite solo of hers but I was impressed with her spinning on her head.

Tommy's Solo
I love Tommy's solos. He's just so musical and creative. His worms are amazing and that final flip was awesome.

Charlie's Solo
Charlie has reverted back to her bad solos. Although, her ending move was kind of cool, how she was in her pose before she landed.


I thought this was one of the best performance show finales. I like all of the final 3 but the order I would rank them in is 1) Tommy 2) Charlie 3) Lizzie. I think Lizzie has done great throughout the competition but overall, I think she is the weakest dancer out of the three. I think Charlie is fantastic when other people are choreographing her but I think she's a weak soloist and hasn't adapted to Hip-Hop that well. I think Tommy is the most deserving to win because he's been the most versatile dancer throughout the competition and he's had amazing solos.
