Motto
"There's no progress without struggle"

Halifax native Natalie Lyons says she "cried and screamed with joy" when judge Luther Brown declared her "the best krumper in Canada!" The professional hip-hop dancer "was thrilled and in disbelief" when she found out she made the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Top 20 as she feared she had struggled through some of the choreography and different genres during Finals Week in Toronto.

Although nervous to perform a ballroom number for the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA audience, the hip-hop dancer and krumper from Halifax will likely say a prayer before stepping out onto the stage. "I usually psyche myself out and visualize dancing with Beyoncé or Janet Jackson before I step onto the stage," she claims.

The part-time Los Angeles resident has had the opportunity to perform live with artists including Nelly Furtado, Keshia Chante, Timbaland and Flo Rida and with Eva Avila in her video for "I Owe It All To You". Despite working with notable artists, Natalie aspires to work with choreographers Brian Friedman and Wade Robson, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA special guest judge and choreographer Luther Brown, and wishes she could have performed with Michael Jackson. Natalie believes "he took dance to another level. There is no one comparable to him."

Natalie knows she has the love and support of her family and friends who are excited to cheer her on throughout in the competition. She's most comfortable when she's lounging in her PJ's and hanging out with close family and friends, and also spends her time off the dance floor cooking, shopping, bowling, biking, hiking and playing volleyball.

Natalie is excited to be part of a television program that shows "the rest of the world what Canada has to offer to the dance community. It will help further dancers careers." When asked how her involvement in SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA has impacted her life, Natalie says "now I feel like I can do anything."
